Our Philosophy

We believe a thoughtfully designed environment filled with good neighbors and a caring staff, along with nutritious food, accessible exercise programs and opportunities to connect and engage every day, are the right combination for optimal living.

For older people living alone, these important elements can become harder to maintain – making home a challenging, unsafe, even lonely place to be.

That’s why we offer a community for older people where living is easier, surroundings are safer – and together is better.

How we’re showing gratitude in August

For leaving our minds better than you found them – thank you, teachers.

Teachers influence the future by awakening curiosity, confidence and creativity, and opening our minds to possibilities. As educators head back to the classroom this month, we’re showing our gratitude by supporting their essential work and sharing personal stories of those who made a difference in our lives.

Come see how we’re celebrating teachers in August at one of our featured events!

Kudos to the Symphony Team: Terry, Traci, Marnie, Sandy and everyone. So pleased with their services and care. If an issue arises, it is dealt with immediately. Both my parents are at Symphony and we made a good choice. The nurses, aides and... everyone, including the activities ladies and the food service team, are all the kindest people. Shout out to super care giver Carm!read more

It takes a special outlook on life to work at an assisted living facility, it's not just a dedication of knowing each resident on a personal level and trying to provide the highest quality of care, it's that extra heartfelt respect of the elderly,... recognizing their emotional needs, and the manner in which one engages with each individual in a respectful and enriching fashion so our loved ones feel understood, comfortable, welcome, and safe --especially those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.Symphony at Mentor has a very special staff that has just this outlook. Their attitude towards their work and the quality of their work is exemplary, I'd never be able to pick just one favorite staff member here because I see an inner joy and a whole lot of patience, kindness, and compassion in a myriad of different fashions from all of the staff I have met in providing care for their residents!Symphony at Mentor focuses a lot on ways to enrich my parent's emotional and physical well-being, senior activity involvement, great meals, and in addition there are many safety features like handrails, wide hallways, uplifting decor, cleanliness, social areas, lounge spaces, and upkeep. My mother is happy at this facility.I love it too!read more

From the very start, Symphony at Mentor has been exceptional in their care. After a minor fall my Papa, who had Parkinson's and dementia, was being bounced around from hospital to rehab to hospital due to his difficult behaviors. It was a very hard... and confusing time, and we were struggling to understand his needs. At the recommendation of a social worker, we decided to move him to Symphony at Mentor. Immediately, the staff at Symphony understood Papa's behaviors and began working with him. They have a very loving and safe environment where Papa was able to be out of bed and walk around the community. This caused an immediate change in his attitude and he began to improve. The staff there was terrific - very loving and helpful. They listened to our concerns and worked with us to reduce many of the medications prescribed in hospital to control Papa's behaviors. This brought another substantial improvement to his daily living. The Symphony staff repeatedly showed love and care for Papa like he was a family member. We saw this in their actions and attitudes day after day, even during the messy parts of elder care. The staff watched over Papa and cared for him 24/7 in ways we were unable to do at home. Now that Papa's journey is complete, we honestly look back and are incredibly happy for trusting Symphony with his care. We truly know we gave him the very best - no more

I cannot say enough about the staff here. Everyone is kind and go out of their way to make sure we are comfortable about the care of our loved one. No question is too small to get an answer. They check in every week to make sure we are okay and... check to see if we have any questions. They care about us too. They check to see what kinds of food your LO likes, whats some of their favorites, etc. When Arranging for a visit and/or FaceTime calls they are so accommodating. And in this time of Covid they go out of their way to make sure everyone is safe. They take every precaution I can call anytime and talk to his nurse to see how he is doing that day When your LO has Alzheimer’s or any memory problem you cannot ask for a better place to take loving care of them. A place that only deals with this problem makes such a difference. Not having to deal with other age related illness keeps the focus on them. I am so thankful for Symphony at more

I cannot say enough praises for the staff at Symphony at Mentor. When I was forced to place my husband who suffers from Parkinson's Disease and dementia they made the transition so easy for me, and I walked out of there knowing he would be in good... care. When you first drive in it looks like a lovely home in the woods with a wonderful wrapping front porch. He is at home there and all of the staff are so caring and treat the residents like members of their own family. They have all become like family to me as well. One of his main caregivers, Michelle, has been very special to me. It just seems like she goes above and beyond to see that he is well taken care of. However, I would also like to add how much I appreciate the care he receives from Crystal and Erica. They are all wonderful!read more
