Situated in a private, wooded setting, Woodholme Gardens is a cozy senior living community located near Northwest Hospital, Sinai Hospital, Greater Baltimore Medical Center and John Hopkins Hospital as well as Woodholme Shopping Center, the Baltimore Zoo and National Aquarium. Wake up every day in a safe, intentionally designed living space. We tend to the cooking, housekeeping and home maintenance so you can participate in social, cultural and exercise programs including book club, painting classes and tai chi. Choose from a menu of seasonal, nutritious chef-prepared dishes at multiple dining venues.

Enjoy discreet, supportive care, a maintenance-free lifestyle including scheduled transportation, and boutique amenities. Spend every day living fully and experiencing greater well-being.

Our Philosophy

We believe a thoughtfully designed environment filled with good neighbors and a caring staff, along with nutritious food, accessible exercise programs and opportunities to connect and engage every day, are the right combination for optimal living.

For older people living alone, these important elements can become harder to maintain – making home a challenging, unsafe, even lonely place to be.

That’s why we offer a community for older people where living is easier, surroundings are safer – and together is better.

How we’re showing gratitude in August

For leaving our minds better than you found them – thank you, teachers.

Teachers influence the future by awakening curiosity, confidence and creativity, and opening our minds to possibilities. As educators head back to the classroom this month, we’re showing our gratitude by supporting their essential work and sharing personal stories of those who made a difference in our lives.

Come see how we’re celebrating teachers in August at one of our featured events!

This Five Star Rating is ONLY for these individuals and not the community. Like any community, there are areas in need of improvement and staff who need soft skill training for me to make Woodholme a five star community. Because I have some... serious care and trust concerns, I have had to hire an additional care assistant for my loved one. There is work definitely and seriously needed by leadership at Woodholme to make it better. These individuals stand out to me the most and are to be commended for their service.A HUGE "Shout Out" to Psalm Lipscomb, one of the Activities Program Specialists for his professionalism, compassionate, and caring manner he exhibits when interacting with my loved one and my family. It means so much because it is a quality and skill set that is rare in some of our Senior communities. Psalm goes above and beyond to make my loved one feel special and engaged. In the Nursing Department, Nurse Jackie and Nurse Lucky are also to be commended for their compassion and care. When I need assistance for my loved one, they are quick to respond.Tonya, one of the Care Aides has a great since of humor. She tries to calm stressful situations with that humor. She is to be commended for her care.Stewart Roszel in Food Service has been helpful in sending me the weekly menus and stopping in to take my loved one's meal orders while meals were restricted to in-room dining.Thank you to these individuals for your dedication and care. I do commend those who have stayed during the pandemic. Their dedication is also appreciated. Thank you!read more

My Cousin was a resident at Woodholme Gardens for approximately 4 years and she was very pleased with the staff and support. As my cousins level of care changed, Woodholme Gardens was able to adjust and continue supporting my Cousin. Thank You

“Experienced leadership, welcoming staff and happy residents!” I visited Woodholme Gardens recently and can’t stress enough how excited I was to see the residents engaged in activities, the delicious menu offerings and the positive attitudes of the... care staff. Kevin Jones, Director of Sales, was knowledgeable of his Senior living competitors and (respectfully) challenged me to find a better local option that could serve my Dad’s care needs AND stay within my budget. I pleased to say “I could not!” Thank you, Sharon (Executive Director), and others for making the choice for my Dad’s next home so easy. I am truly grateful for the guidance provided by the team at Woodholme more

My mother has been at Woodholme for several years. There have been some issues that I have brought to their attention and were dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction. It is not easy to care for so many people on an every day basis, and not have... something that can be improved upon. What I can tell you is when I walk in the front door, I am greeted by a smiling face that knows my name and my moms. The caregivers do a very hard job, but do it well. My mother is always clean, groomed, and attended to. The cooks try their best to accommodate the resident's dietary preferences. It isn't easy to satisfy everyone tastes, but they have made sure my mother has something she will like to eat. The best complement I can give, was the care my mom received during past year during the pandemic. I wasn't able to see her in person due to safety and CDC restrictions. They adhered to safety protocols and kept my mother safe and Covid free. They were the only family she had for almost a year. I could only speak to her on the phone and see her on a Facetime call. They were the ones she saw on an every day basis and who made sure she was healthy and well. She is 95, and she survived the year.Yes, I can find things that I would like done differently. But I am appreciative of what they do to help my mother and I show my gratitude with a BIG thank you to all those that contribute to her more

My loved one has been at Woodholme Gardens for 5 months. While the staff is creating a safe and secure environment for my loved one as he adjusts to the limitations of the pandemic and a new environment; the caring staff has also been providing my... family with much needed peace of mind and comfort as well. The management team(Suzi & Jennie) has provided updates to our family and continue to partner with us in maintaining the quality of life that he has been accustomed to enjoying.Heartfelt thanks to the entire Woodholme Team including the concierge team, nursing team, direct care team, food services, finance, housekeeping and maintenance team. Tracey Watson, the current Director of Sales & Hospitality, is a true gem. She really made this place stand out above the rest during our search. Her kind, compassionate, and friendly demeanor lets you feel like your family member is her family... member leaving you feeling confident in their care. She went above and beyond any obligation or expectation she had toward my family and Woodholme is certainly a better place with her more

I have been very appreciative to every kindness and care shown to my sister. The way that Mary at the desk, Psalm and Lisa have dealt with my requests and visitation requests have helped with the adjustment of my sister living there at Woodholme. ... William, in charge of maintenance, has also been very helpful as I tried to communicate with her during the lockdown. He provided some FaceTime with her and also helped to install her new phone. Thanks to the care specialists on the third floor who show more

My mother has been joyfully residing at WHG since 2016. While it is not always 100% I am grateful for this facility and overall pleased with the support and care.During this Covid period Lisa and Psalm are to be commended for the setup and safe... outdoor visits. Prior to covid Psalm made sure mom had and attended activities even pop up individual ones at times. Lisa has gone above and beyond to relay and help with mom's care also.Stewart has been a special gem for my family and mom especially during this Covid time. He has allowed video chats 1-3 times per week and even kept check on some of her care issues. I don't know what I would have done without him!!!Mom is on the 4th floor dementia unit and the care givers and med techs bend over backwards for my mom. However, Michelle, Olive, Elaine and Eunace treat my mom with special ❤ care and attention even when mom is uncooperative. I am soooooo grateful to many more who intermittently care for mom also but I can't list each and everyone but I will list Nikki for some of the best advice on caring for mom! Also Josephine who is no longer there was simply awesome and truly missed😪.A special thank you to the NURSING staff (Jackie & Lucky) for holding it down each and every day especially after losing Toni and Jim who were also great. Jackie has cared for my mom since she has been there and has resolved so many things that others couldn't she's a hidden Jewel. The Concierge staff is second to none. Angela, Ms. Mary, and Janine deal with my family and mom on a regular basis and always greet us with a smile even when we are being worrisome. Angela will pitch in with care anytime and for that I am grateful. Janine is so soft spoken, polite and helpful always. Ms. Mary is the captain; she runs things and is like family. I have not meet Sophia yet but she is always pleasant on the phone and relays messages in a timely fashion. Nakia is mom's other daughter and we love everything about her❣Administration Jennifer and Shawnette are spectacular too. Jennifer is the glue and does a great job with keeping us informed. Shawnee is always willing to coordinate my mom's care and keep us abreast of her needs.I could not mention everyone or this review or it would turn into a book. Thank you Woodholme for the care before Covid and definitely during Covid. Most of all thanks for keeping my loved one Covid free!!!!#livefullylovefullyread more

Woodholme has been a great place for my mom who suffers from dementia. Not only do they provide her great care, but they have managed to not have had any COVID cases during the pandemic. They restricted access early and have reintroduced family... visits in a safe and responsible way. The Activity Department (Lisa and Psalm) has been especially wonderful coordinating outdoor visits to see my mom, with masks and social distancing in place. I can't say enough about the wonderful job that they have done and the excellent care they provide for my more
